What Makes Prepaid Calling Cards to Work?
By Febe Sumayo of Pingo
Prepaid calling cards today are are a practical way to make your domestic and international calls. The way you call is almost similar to making calls using the regular telephone at your homes. You only need to dial either the local access number or the toll free access number and then enter the personal identification number (PIN). You will hear the current balance and after that, you can dial the number that you intended to call. For your prepaid calling cards to work well, there are different channels with varying roles to work on the efficient carrying and transferring of calls to a high quality voice that you hear for these calls. The service carriers are the companies that own the telephone lines. They also make the rules regarding the use of prepaid calling cards. The resellers are the companies that purchase the minutes from the service carriers. They then distribute these minutes to the issuers. And they also make additional rules on the usage of the card. The issuers are the companies that set the price or the rate of a specific prepaid calling card. They also provide the personal identification number (PIN) for a particular cards and the access numbers to be used to start a call. The distributors buy these cards in bulk to be distributed to the prepaid calling cards retailers. And these retailers have the direct contact to the customers. The prepaid calling card contains the following elements for you to be able to start placing a call. First, you should be aware of the rates that is present in your card. The rates are the prices associated with the prepaid calling card. Every card has its own rate table that states the price per minute for every calling destination that the prepaid calling card can reach. Every prepaid calling card have expiration date, in general. This is the period of the validity of the card. The range is usually from two months to a year. After this period, you can no longer use your cards to make a call. The remaining minutes are already wasted just like the money that you spent in your card. The PIN is the number that identifies the user of the card and this allows the user to start making phone calls. The length, destination and amount of each call is recorded and can be traced using the PIN. There are two access numbers given to you when you buy a prepaid calling card. The local access number allows the user to make calls at cheaper rates and in return, the user has more minutes that are available for the next calls. The toll free access numbers may have slightly higher rates but using these to make your calls ensure you to have a reliable and less busy signal phone calls. There should also be a valid customer service number that you can call in case there are unexpected things to happen. This is also a sign that the company is reliable and you know that your prepaid calling card is safe to use. So when you want to buy a prepaid calling card, determine the features that it contains. Then check for the channels especially the service provider and the carriers. These information will be helpful to you so that you will have less chances to encounter problems while making your international and local calls. |
